So, my sister has loaned me a very fancy sewing machine in perpetuity so I have decided to experiment with various fabrics. Of course, I broke a needle because I was using the wrong kind. The sewing machine is a Bernina 1630 and is quite sophisticated. Every time I need to learn some thing I need to look it up on YouTube! So I have learned that this is called appliqué. I will continue to learn and probably start cutting apart shirts and other articles of clothing to get more fabric.
