I made this necklace for the South Carolina library associations annual conference silent auction. I hope it gets lots of bids! The money raised goes to the scholarship for diversity for the association.
I was invited again this year to submit a jewelry item for the South Carolina Library Association annual conference scholarship for diversity fundraiser. I decided to use a mix of beads and various colors. They range from lampwork beads to Stone to glass and copper and seed beads. The clasp is handmade copper. I hope it sells for a lot of money so that it can go towards the scholarship funds.
I finally finished making these 15 necklaces and two pairs of earrings that were commissioned by my friend Caroline of fossilized dermal scutes (osteoderm fossils) from alligators (I think from the Pleistocene era) that she found at Edisto beach (technically, they’re fresh dermal scutes but being fossilized sounds better)… I used a variety of beads and basic necklace cords and wrapped them with copper wire and silver wire. I might have to go down to the beach to find more to make and sell online!
This pendant has beautiful browns and rust colors striped throughout the jasper and catches the light in different ways giving off different shades of colors. It is wrapped with copper and comes on an adjustable cord/ribbon necklace. The pendant measures close to 3 inches.
