Yet again I had another wonderful long weekend at the men's knitting retreat that was held at Asbury Hills Methodist retreat center in Cleveland South Carolina on October 25 through the 28, 2018. There were 26 of us from all over the country including Seattle, Washington! There were a number of classes and we also... Continue Reading →
Mustard Monarch Wavy Scarf
This scarf ended up measuring 5' x 1'. I used a basic feather and fan stitch and used this monarch yarn that I found on sale in Myrtle Beach. The yarn also has a little bit of glitter in it so that it seems to sparkle a little in the light.
Teaching Tunisian Crochet
I had a wonderful time attending the third annual Purl's Yarn Emporium spring retreat at the Blue Ridge Assembly YMCA in Black Mountain, NC the weekend of April 14, 2018. I decided to offer an informal session on Tunisian crochet and 10 people attended! The retreat was much fun!
Black stone
I only took time to cover one stone on vacation 🙂
Linen stitch scarf
This is a very basic scarf that only took me about five days to finish. I rarely use acrylic but had two skeins of this red heart to use up.
Red noro scarf
Here's another scarf just finished. Working with this Noro was a bit tricky because it broke a few times. I used five skeins of it for this feather and fan type pattern.
Winter party sale
This year at work some of the crafty staff are selling their items. I only had six scarves available to sell so hopefully they will find a home 🙂
Natural alpaca scarf
This 100% alpaca was like crocheting with butter! Amazingly smooth and faultless! I'll have to be sure and invest in really good alpaca from now on. I chose a basic feather and fan pattern for this scarf and worked it up in only a couple of weeks. It was a giant skein of 650 yards.
Chunky gray scarf
I finished this scarf in under a week! I used a 10mm bamboo hook and two strands of yarn: King's Road Tweed by Knob Hill and Sublime merino. It's difficult to tell but I used a linen stitch.
Little scarf
Today while rummaging through my stash, I came across a 75% completed child’s scarf. I think it’s moochi yarn but can’t be sure 🙂 so I spent about 45 minutes and finished it. It’s a linen stitch.
