Scarf Project for Me!

I got a wonderful gift recently! My common-law sister-in-law sent me 4 skeins of this beautiful black yarn and told me to make myself something, so I’ve started it! The yarn is wonderful to work with and is making a beautiful scarf. It’s called Mirasol Akapana and it is 65% Baby Llama, 25% Merino Wool, and 10% Donegal. I had to look up donegal and it appears to be a kind of tweed yarn. I also looked up the web site to find out more about the Mirasol project which supports Peruvian schools.

Here is a look at the knitting board I’m using for this scarf:

Here is the scarf at its current stage which is from one skein. I’m using a rib stitch:

Two Blue Hats

The adult hat I made from sea breeze blue roving yarn and blue bamboospun yarn (doubled up). I used the adult hat size round loom. I casted on with the crochet method so the brim would be a little tighter. Also, this had I made for my friend Nancy in Nashville for her sister who is starting chemo soon.

Then this smaller children’s hat (may be small enough to be a baby’s hat) I made from just the blue roving yarn. I did something different with the brim in that I did a pattern of knit one purl two and it turned out pretty good for a first time experiment!

Yarn!!!

So much yarn and so little time! BUT since we may have another snow day tomorrow, maybe I’ll be able to put a dent into this.

Sunburst Scarf

Here is a bright tube scarf! I used two strands of yarn for this tube scarf: Mohair Kiss Ombre and Classic Elite 100% bamboo. I also put tassels on the ends.

Blue Bamboo

Here is a very simple tube scarf I did on the small round
loom. I used hobby lobby bamboo yarn. I also used a double e-stitch
and skipped a peg after every two stitches.

Man Cowl – finally finished!

I have finally finished the Man Cowl! I used my knitting board and I used Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick & Quick. I used about a skein and a half. The color is pine and i used a rib stitch. Enjoy!
